18 Years of Great Music in the Great Outdoors presented by ATB Financial

Your Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) returns to Hawrelak Park for an 18th year of Symphony Under the Sky from Friday, August 31 to Monday, September 3, 2012.
Special guest artists this year include Vancouver pianist Sara Davis Buechner, Canada’s first lady of musical theatre Louise Pitre and tap dancer Ryan VanDenBoom. Bob Bernhardt leads the ESO for his seventh consecutive year as conductor.

Concerts include:
Mozart, Rossini & Tchaikovsky: Friday, August 31 at 7pm – Three beloved and powerful masterpieces open the festival, featuring Sara Davis Buechner.
Orchestral Showcase: Saturday, Sept 1 at 2pm – Members of your ESO are featured soloists in this perfect afternoon of music in the park.
The Hollywood Sound: Saturday, Sept 1 at 7pm – Revel in some of film’s most beautiful scores featuring John Williams, Ennio Morricone, Randy Newman and more.
Family Matinee: We Love Music!: Sunday, Sept 2 at 2pm – Join 10 ESO musicians on a journey of familiar tunes by great composers. Ideal for kids age 6 and up.
Louise Pitre’s Broadway Showstoppers: Sunday, Sept 2 at 7pm – A mesmerizing program of music from shows like Oliver!, Gypsy, Funny Girl and others.
Boléro: Great Symphonic Dances: Monday, Sept 3 at 2pm – The festival concludes with exotic and exciting symphonic dances and the guns of the Royal Canadian Artillery for Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
Adult Weekend Passes are $149 in reserved seating and $99 for grass seating. Children (12 and under) weekend passes are $75 in reserved seating and free for grass seating. Adult Single ticket priced for reserved seating are $40 and $25 for grass seating, while children single tickets prices are $20 for reserved seating and free for grass seating. The Family Matinee: We Love Music! is not included in the weekend pass and all tickets for this show are $10.
