Rhino Selfies around the World

Join the mission to help save rhinos from the poaching crisis

andBeyond, the luxury experiential travel company, is calling all Instagram idealists, Facebook fanatcis and Twitter tribes ahead of World Rhino Day – Monday 22 September.

As the world reaches tipping point, and loses more rhinos to poaching than the rhino population can breed, andBeyond has partnered with Great Plains Conservation and launched Rhinos Without Borders, a translocation project designed to help stop the extinction of rhinos.

In an effort to raise support, andbeyond has launched a global campaign using crowdfunding site Trevolta. So, GET INVOLVED – simply log on to www.trevolta.com/rhinos and donate as little as US$1 to receive a printable Origami Rhino template and the instructions video link. Then post your ‘rhino selfie’ on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook using hashtags #RhinosWithoutBorders and #RhinoMove. We are thinking landmarks, beaches, mountains or even a piccie from your desk – the more original the better!

What is Rhinos Without Borders?

At this point in time, with one rhino killed in South Africa every nine hours, the species is in rapid decline. Joss Kent, CEO of andBeyond, believes that translocation is integral to the survival of the species and after successfully translocating six white rhinos from South Africa to Botswana last year (which has since resulted in the birth of one calf), andBeyond partnered with Great Plains Conservation with the goal of translocating up to 100 rhinos. With various fundraising initiatives and the help of Trevolta, andBeyond and Great Plains Conservation hope to raise US$8 million for the project.
