Opera Leipzig with standout programme

Opera Leipzig’s new 2018/2019 programme is out – and includes a number of exciting highlights: Strauss lovers will find his most popular work nicely packaged up in two special “Strauss weekends” and Wagner buffs can look forward to a new production of “The Flying Dutchman”, plus, of course, the Ring cycle. This also brings Leipzig’s opera one step closer to the stated goal of making the entire oeuvre of the Leipzig-born composer an integral part of the repertoire by 2022. 2019 Bauhaus centenary – create your trip!

Since 1997, Dresden incoming agency and group travel specialist AugustusTours has been organising customised city and culture trips to Saxony and other parts of Germany, including organising accommodation, restaurants and tour guides, excursions and itineraries as well as museum, opera and concert tickets. With Germany celebrating 100 years of Bauhaus in 2019, there’s no better time for exploring the country on the “Bauhaus trail”. Among the creations of the hugely influential design school are some absolute classics, and Chemnitz, as the Saxon stop on the round trip’s itinerary, offers special insights for design lovers: Art Noveau master Henry van de Velde, whose ground-breaking work provided the roots for the Bauhaus, built his Villa Esche in this town west of Dresden.
